The Hartford’s commitment to environmental stewardship is reflected in our continual focus on becoming more eco-friendly. In 2013, The Hartford was recognized by organizations such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, Carbon Performance Leadership Index, Edison Awards, and others for our environmental devotion. There were triumphs in innovation to help our customers and agents. We lowered our carbon footprint, revitalized local parks with the help of The Hartford’s Environmental Action Team (HEAT), volunteered tens of thousands of hours and made a positive environmental impact across the company.
