Scarecrow Festival 2016 Make Madison Avenue a Destination! Everyone Welcome! A fun opportunity for individuals, families, businesses, clubs schools and organizations! Scarecrows need to be registered by Saturday, October 8, 2016. Join us Saturday, October 1, 2016 - 8:00 AM ‘til 12:00 Noon in the Buckeye Beer Engine parking lot to pick up your own weighted portable base, a 2”x 4” channel and sharing of props so you can begin to make your own scarecrow! The registration fee is just $25.00 with proceeds benefiting

Lakewood Kiwanis’ Eliminate Project and Uptown Lakewood *Sponsors to be Recognized in Promotional Materials and Local Newspapers!  Kick-off Date is Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Lakewood Fire Department, 14601 Madison Avenue – 10 A.M. to 12 Noon!  Awards on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Lakewood Fire Department, – 7:00 P.M.  You will receive an email confirming the location of your scarecrow.  You must agree to display your scarecrow no later than Saturday, October 8, 2016 to Sunday, October 23, 2016 on Madison Ave. between W. 117th and Riverside Drive.  You must agree to maintain and care for your scarecrow (i.e. repairs, bringing indoors or covering if necessary)

The Kiwanis Club of Lakewood, Ohio & Uptown Lakewood 100% of registration fees received by Lakewood Kiwanis will support Kiwanis International’s “PROJECT ELIMINATE”. Kiwanis’ current global campaign for children - The Eliminate Project: Kiwanis eliminating maternal/neonatal tetanus, aims to raise $110 million and save the lives of a 129 million mothers and their future babies. In partnership with UNICEF, Kiwanis is committed by 2016 to eliminating maternal/neonatal tetanus, a disease that kills one baby every nine minutes. By targeting this disease, Kiwanis will not only save lives but also pave the way for other interventions that will boost maternal health and child survival among the poorest, most underserved women and children in the world. A series of three injections costing $1.80 will immunize both mother and future infants from suffering this terrible and agonizing death. 
