November Circle Meetings Altar Guild will meet on Wednesday, November 8th at 7:00pm. Karen Mosier will be our hostess and bible study leader. Helping Hands Circle will be meeting on Thursday, November 9

at 2:00pm at Aspen Heights in Hull.

Jr. Lutherans will meet this month on November 26th at 5:00pm. Supper will be provided and pick up time at the church will be 7:00. Invite a friend to come join in the fun!

After taking the month of October off to allow our members to devote their time and energy to the harvest season, St. Paul Lutheran’s 4:16 Young Adults Group ministry will begin again on November 7th. As to avoid meeting during the busy week of Thanksgiving we will take 2 weeks off and meet on November 28th. Mark these days on your calendar and invite newcomers to join in our fellowship!

Annual October meeting minutes St. Paul congregation met following morning worship on Sunday, October 22, 2017 with 45 voting members present. President Donna Dickmann called the meeting to order. The minutes of the January 22, 2017 annual congregational meeting were read. MMS to accept the minutes as read. Carried. The minutes of the special congregational meetings of March 19, 2017, July 23, 2017 and August 13, 2017 were read. MMS to accept the minutes as read for each meeting. Carried. The treasurer’s report which was handed out prior to the meeting, was then reviewed. The beginning balance on January 1, 2017 was $19,701.45, income through September 30, 2017 was $61,271.76 and expenses through September 30 were $64,092.76, leaving an ending balance as of September 30, was $16,880.45. MMS to approve the treasurer’s report. Carried. Election of officers was brought to the floor. Nominations were as follows: President was Curt Behrens, Deacon was Ken Nielsen, Elder was Rob McAlpine, and Cemetery Board was Dave Suter. MMS to move nomination cease for these positions. Carried. Nominations for Trustee were Bruce Fick and Derek Wellendorf. Bruce Fick was selected by written ballot. MMS to adjourn.

OCTOBER Council notes Meeting Date: October 4, 2017 St. Paul council met on October 4, 2017 with 8 council members present, Pastor Aaron Deutsch and Treasurer Norman Winselman. Pastor Aaron gave opening prayer and Donna called the meeting to order Secretary’s minutes of the previous meeting were read. MMS to approve the minutes. Carried. Treasurer’s report was given and reviewed.

$5,834.60, expenses of $9,427.86, leaving an ending balance of $16,880.45. MMS to approve treasurer’s report. Carried. Deacon’s report: Carey’s Electronics was here and they said it will take about 2 weeks to finalize the project after he starts in October Elders report: Discussed seeking financial advice for being better stewards of our monies.

Trustees report: Discussed the sealing of the concrete north of the church and having Sioux

Sweeping, Wayne Van Voorst, look at the project and suggest on how to fix. It was discussed that the concrete will need replacing in a few years.

OLD BUSINESS: Norman Winselman will withhold taxes as per Heather Stubbe’s desire. Nomination committee reported that the candidates for council will be published in the bulletin. For president – Curt Behrens, Deacon – Ken Nielsen, Elder – Rob McAlpine, Trustee – Bruce Fick and Derek Wellendorf, and Cemetery board – Dave Suter. Agenda for the October 22 Congregational meeting is: 1. Election of Officers and 2. Quarterly Financial Report.
