TLCCA Walkathon 2017 As part of this year’s fundraising efforts, The Lakes College Community Association will be holding its Annual Walkathon for Prep to Year 11 at the school on Friday 10 March 2017 commencing at 1:40pm. The Walkathon involves the children walking as many laps of the oval as they can in the allocated time of 45 minutes. The length of the circuit is approximately 300m and for Prep it is about 250m. Our Senior students have been working hard with the TLCCA to make this a fun house event. The winning House will receive a prize of a pizza party. Only those students that financially contribute to the walkathon will be able to attend. Those students that raise over $50 will be eligible to go into the draw for a $100 Westfield voucher. There will be one prize for Primary and one prize for Secondary and these will be drawn on assembly. Please remember to send your child to school in their House shirt and PE shorts on the day - we really want them to get into the “House spirit”. Also don’t forget hats, water bottles and sunscreen. We also ask that each child brings along some fruit on the day to share with their friends; after all, walking is hard work. We would love some help on the day to slice up the fruit and assist with the set up/running of the Walkathon. Please contact our acting TLCCA President Karyn Townsend on
[email protected] to register your interest in helping. Please support this fundraiser by encouraging your children to ask family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues to sponsor them. People can sponsor your child on a per lap basis or they can choose to sponsor them for a set amount. Sponsorship forms will come home in the next couple of days. In the interest of safety, please ensure that your children only seek sponsorship with parental supervision and only from people they know. Put the date in your diaries – we would love to see as many parents as possible coming along to enjoy the event and support the children and the school. Thanks for your support.
