Top tips for Xero users September 2017

In this edition of Top Tips we show you just two ways in which connecting apps with Xero can drive profitability, better business outcomes and save time.

Connections in the cloud We all love how easy Xero is to use and the time it saves us when it comes to the financial side of the business but what you may not know is that there are now hundreds of apps that you can add to Xero to save you even more time. When you connect these cloud apps – that is when the real accounting magic happens. Because the data is all real-time, it makes collaborating easy.

Invoicing Harvest gives simple time tracking, powerful reporting and quick invoicing. It automatically copies your invoices over to Xero, emails them to your clients, sends payment reminders and integrates with Stripe and PayPal to let your clients pay online in seconds.

It gives a great bird’s-eye view of all the invoices you have created and shows any open invoices that you might need to follow up. The invoice graph gives you an overview of your revenue for the year, and the filters let you report on a particular client or timeframe.

Expenditure Have you been spending hours imputing expenses into your accounting software? Have piles of paperwork and receipts? Receipt Bank can change all of that in three easy steps: 1.

Take 10 minutes to send photos or documents to Receipt Bank to be processed

2.

No duplication or lost information as all data is saved securely in the cloud. Receipt Bank will scan and extract all the information needed

3.

Publish to Xero and you will have saved hours of your valuable time

So where to start? Xero’s App Marketplace is a great place to start. You can search by function or app category to find the right tools to help your business, and you can sort by most popular, latest or A-Z. The Marketplace also shows reviews and the star rating its users have given the app. If you need any further help with getting connected or want some advice on the best apps, please get in touch at [email protected].
