DIXIE CLASSIC – OCTOBER 3-4 GRIFFIN NOTEBOOK: DIXIE CLASSIC SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women’s golf team returns to action on Monday and Tuesday when they compete at the Dixie Classic. The 36-hole event will take place at the Sand Hollow Golf Course in Hurricane, Utah. This is the second straight year the Griffins have gone to the meet hosted by Dixie State University. Last season, Westminster placed 12th with 663 total strokes. Karen Valcarce will lead the team into this year’s event after placing 13th at the opening RMAC event of the season earlier this month. Valcarce is averaging 79.5 strokes per round on the year and has the team;s lowest round of the season at 79 during the first round of the RMAC tournament.

Kalle Lunsford is second on the team through one event with her 86.0 strokes average. Lunsford was 42nd at the season opener after matching rounds of 86.

NNU Invitational
Ashley Dechant had and opening round 83 and is averaging 87.5 strokes per round. Jesella De Jesus shot 176 in her collegiate debut and Cassie Campos shot 183.
The Griffins will complete the fall season on October 10 and 11 at the RMAC Event No. 2. That will be held at the Cattails Golf Course in Alamosa, Colo.
