Triad Baptist Christian Preschool Encouraging Words for Parents I’m sure almost every parent could echo your frustration, for it’s hard being a parent — very hard. It’s not just exhausting physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. In fact, parenting is one of the hardest jobs in the world. But it also can be one of the most satisfying, if we learn to look beyond the immediate problems and heartaches and begin to see it from God’s point of view. After all, God gave your children to you, and He did it because He knows they need the love and wisdom only you can give them. The Bible says, “Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him” (Psalm 127:3). In other words, God has given you one of the greatest privileges imaginable: the privilege of helping shape the future of another human being. Someday your children will no longer live with you — but what will their memories be? Will they only be of bickering or conflict — or will they be of love, joy and happiness? Don’t let your frustrations or weariness crowd out your love.

We have a new sign in sheet for any child arriving after 9:00am. This sheet is located on the window ledge outside of Laura’s office window. We will not buzz anyone in until we see that they have signed in. We are in hopes that parents will take our arrival by 9:00am seriously. It’s hard to teach when children are strolling in at all times of the morning. Please remember, that if you have an appointment in the morning, please call and let us know. Thank you!

Class Parties… On Monday, October 31st each of our Preschool classrooms will have Fall Parties. All children can wear cute costumes, but please no scary or skeletons or witches. Please look in your child’s classroom for their sign-up sheets to contribute something to bring. Thank you!

Come join the fun on Sunday, October 30th from 5-7pm here at Triad Baptist for a fun-filled evening of food, games and bounce houses. Also bring a bag or bucket so you can trunk or treat!

Why Outdoor Play is so Important!

Children enjoy learning to run, jump, hop, swing, slide and climb outdoors for the sheer joy of it. But there are many reasons why these outdoor activities are important. One of the obvious benefits is to their physical development. Active outdoor play tones and strengthens the large muscles which, in turn, supports the development of gross-motor skills.

They may talk about the slimy snail, fuzzy caterpillar, buzzing bees and so on. After a rain, they may notice that the air smells different, or that the worms have come above the ground. This raises questions and creates opportunities for discovery and learning how to find answers to their questions about nature.

Children also stretch and grow their emotional and social skills through outdoor play. Whether they are learning to throw and catch a ball or swing independently, children experience a sense of accomplishment and pride as they take risks and practice new skills. At the same time, they are learning important social lessons about sharing play equipment and follow safety rules. Children’s language, literacy and cognitive skills are also strengthened through outdoor play. The great outdoors is a kind of laboratory for observing, exploring and hands on learning. As children learn to identify and describe all that is around them, their vocabulary expands.

Most importantly, leading pediatricians recommend children to go outside daily in the sunshine or even cloudy days to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. It is an easy way to “air them out” from germs and germs in their inside environments.

Cool weather is coming...Dress warmer to go outside!

Remember: We recommend every child to go outside each day. This is also a state law for our children to get outdoors. One quote our Licensing representative says that we agree with is that if a child is too sick to go outside, then they are too sick to be in school that day.
