Valley Youth Hockey Association Turkey Tourney Rules
Tournament Format and Rules (general)
4 game guarantee
Teams must be prepared to go on ice 15 minutes prior to game time
Games will be half ice for Red and White Division and Cross ice for Blue division
Competition will be 4 on 4 (a dressed goalie is required for the Red and White Division)
Games will consist of two 20-minute running time periods for Red and White Division
Horn every two minutes for line changes
Blue Division will play 20 minute games in a Mini Jam Format
One referee will officiate each game
No off-sides, icing or time-outs
Penalties will be called and result in a change of possession
Penalties assessed will result in a penalty shot at the conclusion of the game
Center ice face-offs at the start of each game, after each line change and period.
Red and White Tournament Format
All games will be half ice
6 team division - three division games
2 points for win, 1 point for tie, 0 points for loss
Tiebreaker - head to head, most wins, total goal differential (goals for - goals against), fewest penalties
In the event of a tie in a Championship game there will be a 10 minute sudden victory overtime period immediately following the game
If there is no goal in overtime there will be a 5 player shootout
Individual medals for all participants. Team trophies to Winning Team and Runner-up.
