TWIN GROVES GRADUATION INFORMATION 2017 Please mark your calendar with these important dates:
FRIDAY, MAY 19 The 8th grade graduation party will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Brunswick Zone 10 S. Waukegan Road in Deerfield. The party includes bowling, shoe rental, unlimited pizza, soft drinks, and dessert. The bowling alley will be closed to the public during this time. Transportation WILL NOT be provided by the school. S tudents must be picked up promptly at 7:30 p.m. S tudents will not be permitted to leave prior to the end of the event. If any parent owns or works at a business that would be willing to donate raffle prizes, please contact Mrs. Shapiro at 847 8218946.
TUESDAY, MAY 30 Gowns and tickets will be distributed in 8th period classes. Tickets will be required for guest entry into the Stevenson High School Sports Center for the graduation ceremony. Graduates do not need tickets. Each student will be given 7 tickets. T here are no extra tickets . PLEASE NOTE: LOST GRADUATION TICKETS CANNOT BE REPLACED! I f you need handicapped or wheelchair accessible seating, you must contact Mrs. Shapiro at the TG Office (847)8218946.
THURSDAY, JUNE 1 Students will report to their first period class at 7:45 a.m. for attendance and then they will be going to the gy m for Graduation Practice. The students will rehearse until approximately 9:30 a.m. After the students have successfully completed graduation rehearsal, they will be leaving to go to Great America. Students who are not going to Great America should be picked up a t Twin Groves at 9:45 a.m . P arents should come into the building to sign their child out. Buses will return to Twin Groves from Great America at 6:15 p.m. Please realize that there will not be “line of sight” supervision of students throughout the day. School rules will be enforced. We will not hesitate to call and ask you to pick up a student that deliberately breaks school or park rules. IMPORTANT MESSAGES ALL STUDENTS MUST RIDE THE BUS TO GREAT AMERICA AND BACK TO TWIN GROVES, N O EXCEPTIONS STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO USE THE WATERPARK AT GREAT AMERICA DUE TO CONCERNS FROM OUR INSURANCE CARRIER.
FRIDAY, JUNE 2 This is a regular day of school for 8th graders. PTO will provide a pizza lunch.
MONDAY, JUNE 5 GRADUATION No school for 8th graders All graduates should arrive at Stevenson High School with their gowns n o later than 7:30 p.m. to begin lining up. Students should report directly to the Wood Commons Area. Doors will not be open until 7:30p.m. P lease do not plan on arriving early if you are unable to stand and wait for the doors to open . Parents should wait outside the Sports Center until the doors open. The ceremony will start promptly at 8:00 p.m. All parents and guests should be seated by 7:55 p.m. PARKING: Lot E is reserved for Twin Groves Graduation. There will be reserved handicap spaces in Lot E. Overflow parking will be in Lot D. Lot B will not be available, as it will be reserved for Woodlawn families. Guests can meet students in the Wood Commons after graduation. Thank you for your cooperation.
GRADUATION FEES : To defray the cost of special events, it is necessary to ask parents and students to contribute to the cost. If a student is unable to pay the fees, the student or his/her parents should contact Mrs. Barnes.
