A GLANCE AT IDAHO STATE: Idaho State (3-0) picked up its third-straight win on Thursday, Nov. 16, dismantling NAIA member The College of Idaho, 89-32. One week earlier, the Bengals opened the season with a pair of road victories, topping Seattle U and No. 25 Washington. Senior Brooke Blair has paced ISU with 20.0 points per game, while sophomore Sai Tapasa is averaging 10.0 points and a team-best 9.0 rebounds. SERIES RECORD VS. ISU: UC Irvine trails in its all-time series with Idaho State, 5-1, as the Bengals have won five in a row. The ‘Eaters made their way to Pocatello last year and came up short in a 65-54 loss. Their only victory in the series came in a neutral-site game in Santa Clara on Jan. 3, 1986.

TEAM EFFORT: Over the first three games, 10 of UCI’s 13 active players have averaged at least 10 minutes, while only Tahlia Garza has logged more than 30 (30.3 mpg). Five Anteaters have also registered at least 7.0 points per outing. In the season-opening win over Utah State, UC Irvine had four in double digits for the first time since a 74-71 overtime triumph at Cal Poly on Feb. 18, 2017. BIG WEST PREDICTIONS: UCI was picked to finish eighth in the Big West Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The ‘Eaters collected 24 points to place ahead of Cal State Fullerton (9). UC Davis was selected to repeat as the league’s regularseason champion as it received six first-place votes and 77 total points. CSUN, which earned two first-place nods, was second with 69 points, and was followed by UC Santa Barbara (63), Hawai‘i (49), UC Riverside (46), Cal Poly (44) and defending Big West Tournament champion Long Beach State (25).
