UCLA Panhellenic Executive Board Application
Dear Prospective Applicant, Thank you for your interest in joining the UCLA Panhellenic Executive Council! The positions that are open for the 2016 calendar year are that of President, Executive Vice President, VP Membership, Assistant VP Membership, VP Finance, VP Programming, VP Communications, VP Public Relations, VP Scholarship, VP Education, VP Women’s Wellness, VP Risk Management and Assistant VP Risk Management. Please indicate on your application your preferred positions. Panhellenic Council meetings will be held weekly on Monday from 3-4 pm. As a member of the Executive Board, you are expected to make meetings a priority when selecting your classes for each quarter. The Executive Board overnight retreat will be held on Friday, January 15th and is an overnight experience. As a member of the council, you are expected to attend the retreat. A solid and genuine commitment to joining this executive council is imperative to the council’s success. Being a leader of the Panhellenic Council necessitates the ability to work as a team, take hold of a project from the outset and see it through to its completion, have a proactive attitude, affect positive change, and be an informed guide for the rest of the sorority community. The benefits one reaps from being an effective leader on the UCLA Panhellenic Executive Council is everlasting and worthwhile. [email protected] Important Dates and Information Applications are due Thursday of Week 7 (November 12, 2015) at noon in the pink Panhellenic hanging folder in the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Relations in 105 Kerckhoff Hall. After you complete your application, we will contact you to confirm that we have received it and inform you of the room that interviews will be taking place in. 1. Interviews will be held on Tuesday, November 17th from 6:00-11:00 pm. Please keep this time available for an interview and mark on your application if you have a conflict. You will be contacted with your interview time slot. 2. Panhellenic Executive Board transition meeting will be held on Sunday, November 22nd from 6:00-8:00 pm at Kappa Delta. Attendance at this meeting is mandatory for all elected officers so please keep this date open. Mark on your application if you have a conflict. 3. The Executive Board overnight retreat will be Friday, January 15th. This event is also mandatory and please note on your application if you cannot attend. 4. Regular meetings will begin Week 1 of Winter Quarter and will be held every Monday from 3:004:00 pm. 5. Officer installation will take place Monday, January 11th from 3:00-4:00 pm at Alpha Phi. Eligibility 1. A Panhellenic officer must be an active Panhellenic sorority member is good standing with her chapter at the time of her election or appointment and maintain an active status and good standing throughout her term. 2. A Panhellenic officer must be registered with the University of California, Los Angeles and enrolled as a full time student in good academic standing with the university. She must maintain a minimum 2.0 quarterly and overall GPA throughout her term. 3. No more than 2 members from the same chapter are allowed to be elected to the Panhellenic Executive Board. General 1. All Executive Board Officers must disaffiliate during all recruitment periods to administer the Panhellenic Recruitment program. 2. Panhellenic Executive Board meetings will be held weekly on Mondays at 3 pm and Panhellenic Delegate meetings will be held on Mondays at 3:30 pm beginning Winter Quarter. Panhellenic officers must be present at both of these meetings each week. *Note: The Panhellenic President will be elected from someone who has served on the Panhellenic Executive Board for the previous year. Any Panhellenic officer may run for Panhellenic President. If none are available, then eligibility goes to a delegate, followed by a general sorority member.

THE FOLLOWING ARE REQUIRED OF ALL PANHELLENIC OFFICERS. YOUR SIGNATURE GUARANTEERS THAT YOU WILL MEET THESE OBLIGATIONS: 1) All officers must have and maintain a 2.0 cumulative UCLA GPA throughout their term of office. 2) All officers must attend the Executive Board meetings and Delegate meetings, on Mondays from 3:00 - 4:00 pm. 3) All officers must be active (not alumnae) members in good standing with their chapter throughout their term of office. 4) The Membership Recruitment Team members are expected to be in Los Angeles throughout the summer, specifically on site during the months of August / September to assist with Fall membership recruitment. All other officers are expected to reside in Los Angeles from September 12, 2016 until the end of the summer to be available to assist with Fall membership recruitment and Recruitment Counselor Training.
