The 2015 4-H Scholarship Golf Classic is set for Saturday May 30th at Fairways of Halfmoon. Since its inception in 2001, the outing has continued to grow, allowing us to offer scholarships and provide an array of unique educational opportunities to our county youth. This year we once again invite you to become a part of this special fund raiser. Our goal for 2015 is to reach 18 tee sponsors and 20 cart sponsors! Do you know of anyone who can help us reach this goal? If so, sponsor letters, and brochures are located at the 4-H office. The following is a complete list of ways businesses or yourselves can support the 4-H Golf Classic. - Promote your business by putting your business card in our golfers goodie bags for $25 - Your business can advertise by sponsoring a cart sign for $35. - Your business can advertise by sponsoring a sign at a tee for $100. - A $600 sponsorship includes a full page ad in our program, a sign at a tee, and a free foursome to play. - A $1000 sponsorship includes prime positioning of a full page ad, a sign at EACH of 18 tees, and a free foursome to play. - You can secure gift certificates for the raffle, or donate items for the goodie bags each player receives. - You can simply make an individual donation. - You can enter a foursome to play and enjoy the celebration of this great event! Whichever avenue you may choose to make your contribution, know that it will be greatly appreciated by each and every 4-H youngster who will have an opportunity to become a better person thanks to your efforts. Remember, any contribution to 4-H is a tax deductible donation under current IRS guidelines. The brochure is available on the CCE website at www.ccesaratoga.org then click on the Golf Classic logo.

The walk will start and end at the Orenda Pavialion (park in SPAC parking lot) The goal for 2015 is to have at least 150 walkers and raise $10,000. Let’s have a great turnout and show our support of the 4-H Training Center. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the 5K walk will start at 10:15. Be there!

Getting sponsorships is very important, and it takes work and planning to develop your list of supporters. Don’t wait until the last minute. All walkers with at least $50 in sponsorships receive the always popular Walkathon T-shirt. Build your sponsor list by getting 5 friends, relatives or neighbors to sponsor you for $10 each, and qualify for your shirt. Then continue to build your list to make even more of an impact on the total for the event.
Dairy Visions
The money raised at the Walkathon is used to maintain the 4-H Training Center and keep it available for clubs, community groups, families, regional and local events and programs, horse shows, dog training classes, and more. We can’t have a Walkathon without walkers, so we need you.

Are you all ready for the 41st Annual 4-H Walkathon? Does everyone know that the event will again be held in the Saratoga Spa State Park? What you may not know is that this year, we have been moved to the Orenda Pavilion, and we’re doing a NEW 5K loop! We’ll be parking in the SPAC parking lot and making our way to the pavilion for registration and the start of the walk. This is a small change for 2015, but one we hope will be exciting!

Fashion Revue
National Volunteer Week
Did you complete a sewing project this year? If so, Fashion Revue is for you. It is open to all members who constructed a garment or item. The program has two components – judging and the revue. You must participate in both.
Every year, hundreds of people give their time, talent and energy to help strengthen the 4-H community of Saratoga County. Our volunteers range from children/ teens to older adults, to businesses and local organizations, and all share the act of choosing to make a difference. With your help, we are achieving extraordinary results!
There are two judging sessions – Monday, May 4th and Thursday, May 7th. You only need to attend one session. The revue is Friday, May 15th. Registration materials will be sent to organizational leaders and individual members.
National Volunteer Week 2015 is April 12-18th and we honorably recognize all 4-H volunteers; leaders, committee members, evaluators, workshop and symposium helpers, teen assistants, envelope stuffers, BBQ cooks, trip chaperones, and the friendly faces at all events.
