Game Notes FIRST PITCH After a heavy snow storm, Kirchoff Field is ready for action as the Bullets finally get to play ball on their home field as they take on the Penn State-Berks Lions in a nonconference showdown. ALL-TIME SERIES Gettysburg holds 7-2 series lead over Penn State-Berks. In their last four meetings the Bullets and Lions are split at 2-2.

Senior Tyler Comport tossed six hitless innings while fanning five to lead the Lions to victory while junior Austin Madeja went 3-for-4 on the game with three RBIs at the plate. Sophomore Calen Reigner ptiched a perfect inning in relief to complete the combined no-hitter for the Lions.  Junior Toby Welk leads the Lions in hitting, batting an impressive .528 with six doubles, three triples , four home runsa nd 16 RBIs.  Senior Tyler Comport has gone 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA and 16 strikeouts to lead the pitching staff.

FINISHING HOT IN FLORIDA The Bullets won the last four games of their spring break trip to Florida scoring a total of 50 runs during that span. Senior co-captain Chuck Probst got back into last seasons form ripping 11 hits including three doubles and three triples while knocking in 11 runs. Fellow senior cocaptain Brad DeMartino gave the Bullets the spark they needed when he fired a one hit shutout and struck out nine in a win over Marywood University.

LAST TIME OUT The Bullets lost a pair of games in a doubleheader when they visited Penn State-Harrisburg on Tuesday afternoon. Penn State-Harrisburg won both games in the last inning on walk-off hits. In the first game, Ryan Augustus hit an oppoisite field solo home run and Ryan LaCoe hit a two RBI double to highlight the Bullets offense. In game two, which was ended after five innings due to darkness, Ryan LaCoe went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored while Dominick Gasparro hit in an RBI in his first action since sustaining an injury in Florida. LAST SEASON VERSUS PENN STATE BERKS The Lions brought the Bullets nine-game winning streak to an end when they split a doubleheader with the Bullets last year in Reading, Pa. In the opener, the Bullets rallied to tie the game in the last inning when J.J. Lucido ‘17 drew a bases loaded walk to score Chuck Probst, only to see Berks Damian Mace hit a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the inning to secure a 5-4 victory. In the nightcap, the Bullets did all of their damage in the early going when they scored all seven of their runs during the first three innings. Logan Sneed capped a threerun first with a two-RBI single before Chuck Probst slammed a two-run hommer in the second. The Bullets added two more in the thrid. Berks tallied 10 hits on the game but were held to three runs as the Bullets won 7-3. SCOUTING THE LIONS  Entering Friday, Penn State Berks is 1-3 in their last four games.
