Game Notes FIRST PITCH In their final tune-up before their Centennial Conference opener on Saturday, the Bullets take on Penn State Mont Alto Lions this afternoon in a nonconference tilt that was originally scheduled to be played at Mont Alto. ALL-TIME SERIES Gettysburg leads Penn State Mont Alto 5-0 in the all-time series that started in 2012. LAST TIME OUT Senior J.J. Lucido went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and the Bullets slugged their way to a 15-4 victory at Juniata in non-conference action yesterday. Lucido also smacked a double and a triple for the Bullets, who won for the 11th time in 12 games. Gettysburg outhit the Eagles 20-6 and posted season-highs in both runs and hits. Three other Bullets finished with three hits, including freshmen Joe Giovinco and Tyler Mitchell, who ripped one double apiece. Freshman Tate Frodsham also roped three hits, senior Will Anderson scored four runs, and senior Connor Tom scored three times. In addition, junior Chuck Probst singled to stretch his hitting streak to 23, dating back to last season. On the mound, senior Rich Power fired seven innings, allowing just five hits while striking out eight en route to his third win in as many starts. PLAYERS OF THE WEEK For the second week in a row, Gettysburg swept the Centennial Conference Player of the Week honors and had a player earn a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week. Senior left-hander Rich Power was named the conference’s Pitcher of the Week while junior centerfielder Chuck Probst landed both CC Player of the Week and D3baseball.com Team of the Week recognition. Power tossed a four-hit shutout and tied a career-high with 12 strikeouts without walking a batter in Gettysburg’s 11-0 victory over Penn State York. It was the third career shutout for the left-hander but his first that went nine innings. Probst turned in an outstanding week at the plate in a 5-1 week for Gettysburg, hitting .522 (12-

for-23) and blasting four home runs, including two grand slams. In addition, he racked up eight runs and 12 RBIs while posting a 1.261 slugging percentage. His biggest day came versus Penn State York, when he equaled an NCAA Division III and Centennial Conference record with two grand slams. Probst also went 4-for-4 with a double and a triple in a 10-0 win over Penn State Altoona, and he capped the week by homering in both ends of a doubleheader split at Penn State Berks. LAST MEETING VS MONT ALTO Logan Sneed tied a school record for the second time in eight days while Aaron Bezio pitched 6 1/3 innings to earn the win as Gettysburg defeated Penn State Mont Alto 14-2 here at Kirchhoff Field last season. Sneed finished 5-for-6 with three runs and three RBIs to equal the Gettysburg standard for hits in a game once again. After lining out in his first at-bat, he singled in five straight at-bats. Bezio fired four perfect innings to start the game and yielded just five hits and one walk while striking out seven for the day. Jeremiah Younker went 2-for-4 to lead Mont Alto. SCOUTING THE LIONS Mont Alto is 2-12 on the season following its 10-4 loss at Penn State DuBois last night. Sophomore Jeremiah Younker is the team’s leading hitter on the season, batting .417. Freshman Spencer Meyers is second at .286. Freshman William LaRussa leads the Lion pitching staff in both innings (17 1/3) and strikeouts (14).
