HOW DOES IT WORK? Only 160 tickets are sold, and all ticket holders show up on the night of the reverse raffle (however, need not be present to win). Tickets are drawn one by one until only 5 tickets remain. The last 5 ticket holders are then seated at the front of the room. Other ticket holders whose tickets have already been drawn may offer to buy a ticket from the remaining 5 ticket holders and replace them amongst the 5 finalists. Once that bidding is done, the 5 finalists must talk amongst themselves and make a big decision: shall we split the $5000 prize or draw another ticket? If even one of finalists refuses to split the prize, another ticket will be drawn, and the finalists will be reduced by one. This process continues until all finalists agree to split the prize or one finalist wins the whole $5,000.
