What is Worship? Why do we Worship?

What is Worship? Why do we Worship? 3. Waking up our Attitudes (Ps 100:1 “giving thanks”, 2 “with gladness”, 4 “thanksgiving”) • Worship is being glad about who God is • Worship is humbling oneself before God • Worship is personal and heartfelt
Worship is more than a song: It is lifting God up in every part of our lives through our actions, thoughts, and attitudes. Worship is waking up to who God is.
How do we Worship? • “Biblical Worship” (Ps. 150:1-6; Col. 3:16-17) – Trumpet, lute, harp, tambourine, dance, strings, pipe, cymbals, loud clashing cymbals – Sacrifices, altars, in Jerusalem, at the temple, in the synagogue, etc.
• John 4:24 “in spirit and truth”=inward sincerity and truthfully/honestly – In spirit • Inwardly, experientially • Right attitude and thoughts
– In truth • Not any way to anyone • To the Triune God • With genuine actions, thoughts, and attitude
