White Rock’s new Used Uniform Recycle Scheme Dear Parent/Carer We are pleased to announce that White Rock is now taking part in Torbay Council’s Waste Reduction and Recycling Scheme. Torbay Council have partnered with Chrissy’s Used Uniforms of Winner Street, Paignton, who have kindly supplied our school with a recycling box, in which we can place any unclaimed items of lost property or uniform donated by parents. Each half-term or when the box is full, Chrissy’s Used Uniforms will collect the contents free of charge and take it to their shop for processing. There, the items will be weighed and £1.50 per Kg will be donated to the local charity, Anode on behalf of White Rock Primary. Once processed the clothing will be presented for sale in the shop at affordable prices. This scheme enables parents to save money on school uniform, helps reduce landfill and supports local charities. We will only place unnamed items of uniform in the collection box, so if you wish to check its contents for any lost uniform or if you have any uniform you would like to donate, the box will be located in the school reception area.
