Upper-Intermediate - World Gourmand: A Foodie's Paradise(D2908) A:
How's it going, you must be very busy lately? I heard that your channel has launched a new food program, has it?
B:
Hey, news spreads so fast. Our channel is, in fact, launching a program called "World Gourmand".
A:
zěnme, yào jièshào shìjiègèdì de měishí ā, tīng qǐlai xiàng gè wàijǐngjiémù ò。 What's it about, is it going to introduce cuisine from around the world, it sounds like a travel program.
B:
It is indeed, the plan of our programming team is to first introduce cuisine from all over the country, then to gradually introduce overseas food.
A:
wǒ juéde sīlù hěn bùcuò ā, zàiwǒkànlai, wǒ huì xiān jiāng“ chuān、 Lǔ、 sū、 yuè、 zhè、 mǐn、 xiāng、 huī” zhè bā dà càixì zhúyī jièshào。

I think this way of conceiving it is good. In my view, I will first introduce the eight major cuisines, Sichuanese cuisine, Shandong cuisine, Jiangsu cuisine, Cantonese cuisine, Zhejiang cuisine, Fujian cuisine, Hunan cuisine and Anhui cuisine.
B:
shì a, wǒmen shèzhìzǔ huì dào dāngdì tànfǎng mínjiān měishíjiā, jiēmì zuì yǒumíng de càisè, bǐrú qù Sìchuān zhǎoxún zuì dìdào de Chuāncài。 Yes, our camera crew will go to the location and interview local gourmands, to reveal the secrets of the most famous cuisine, like going to Sichuan to find the most authentic Sichuanese food.
A:
Chuāncài dehuà, kǒuwèi jiùshì málà xiānxiāng, zuì yǒumíng de càisè jiù děi shǔ“ shuǐzhǔyú”、“ gōngbǎojīdīng”、“ mápó dòufu” la。 xiāngcài yě zhònglà, bùguò gèng yóunì。 In terms of Sichuanese food, the flavor is hot and numbing and fresh and fragrant. And one must count "poached sliced fish in hot chili sauce", "Kung Pao Chicken" and "Mapo Tofu" among them. Hunanese cuisine is also very spicy, but more oily too.
B:
wǒ jiùshì Húnán rén, wǒmen xiāng mèizi tè néng chī là。 duìle nǐmen zhèjiāng shì yú mǐ zhīxiāng, zhècài yǒu hǎo duō“ húxiān” ba, kǒuwèi jiù piān qīngdàn érqiě kǒugǎn jiào tián ba。 I'm from Hunan myself, us Hunan girls are really good at eating spicy food. Oh yeah, I heard that Zhejiang where you are from is great for fish and rice. Zhejiang cuisine incorporates a lot of seafood sourced from lakes, the flavor of which is quite light and it tastes quite sweet.
A:
duìya, Zhōngguó dìyù nàme guǎng, gèdì yǐnshí xíguàn hé kǒugǎn zhēn shì dàxiāng jìng tíng, běifāng piān xián, nánfāng piān tián。 ná wǒmen zhècài láishuō, pēngtiáo fāngfǎ jiù duō yǐ shāo、 zhēng、 dùn、 wēi wéizhǔ, kǒugǎn qīngxiāng。

Yeah, China has such vast territory, the food and drink habits and flavors are poles apart. The north tends towards saltiness and the south tends towards sweetness. In terms of our Zhejiang cuisine, the cooking methods are mainly roasting, steaming, stewing and simmering, and the flavors are light and fragrant.
B:
是啊,我去過杭州,我特別愛吃“西湖醋魚”、“荷葉粉蒸肉”、“桂花藕片” ,浙菜還有好多糕點,面點,味道真是好極了! shì a, wǒ qù guò Hángzhōu, wǒ tèbié ài chī“ xīhúcùyú”、“ héyè fěn zhēng ròu”、“ guìhuā ǒupiàn”, zhècài háiyǒu hǎo duō gāodiǎn, miàndiǎn, wèidao zhēn shì hǎo jí le! Yeah, I've been to Hangzhou, I love eating West Lake Sweet and Sour Fish, pork steamed with ground rice flour wrapped in lotus leaves and lotus root candied with osmanthus. Zhejiang cuisine has so many cakes and pastries, they taste so good!
A:
xiǎngdào jiāxiāng cài jiù rěnbuzhù yàn kǒushuǐ ā, zài wǎng nánbiān dào Guǎngdōng, yuècāi jiù jiān róng zhōng xī càisè, zìchéngyī jiā le。 yuècāi de yòngliào hěn guǎngbó, xuǎn liào zhēnqí, jiǎndān de shuō, Guǎngdōng rén shénme dōu gǎn chī。 My mouth can't help watering thinking of local hometown dishes, a little further south to Guangdong we have Cantonese food, which is a fusion between Chinese and Western cuisine, forming a tradition of its own. Lots of ingredients are used for Cantonese food, they use a lot of odd ingredients. Simply speaking, people from Guangdong eat anything.
B:
Xiānggǎng hěn duō chá cāntīng yě shì yuècāi fēngwèi! yī xiǎngdào bùjiǔ jiùyào qù gèdì pāishè, hǎo qīdài ya! Haha, that's true. The dish "tiger fighting dragon" is a combination of the flavors of snake and cat meat, it's really beyond belief. Many Cha Chaan teng, or tea restaurants, in Hong Kong also count as Cantonese style food! Just thinking of going to all these places to film is making me really excited!
