Year Nine Takeaway Homework- Gothic

Please  choose  from  one  of  the  three  homework  op4ons  for  each  week.  Your  homework  will  be  marked  for  effort,  as  well  as   for  accuracy.  If  you  are  absent  on  hand  in  day,  please  hand  in  your  homework  in  the  next  lesson  that  you  are  in.  There  are   several  ‘Extra  Credit’  homeworks.  Students  may  choose  to  do  these  at  any  4me  over  the  next  half-­‐term.  Comple4on  of   ‘Extra  Credit’  homework  shows  real  dedica4on  and  excellent  mo4va4on!   Due:  Tues  13th  Jan

Create  a  collage  of  Gothic   images  and  wri4ng  that  you  can   find.  Include  cap4ons  for  each   picture.  

Create  your  own  Gothic   interpreta4on-­‐  this  could  be   wri4ng,  artwork,  customising  an   old  t  shirt,  designing  a  costume-­‐   be  imagina4ve!  

Research  a  Gothic  writer  –   include  details  about  their  life,   the  wri4ng  that  they  produced   and  any  pictures  to  accompany   your  ideas.  

Create  a  food  that  uses  the   perfect  recipe  for  a  Gothic  book   or  film.  Be  crea4ve  with  your   ingredients!    

Create  a  quiz/puzzle  to  test   someone’s  knowledge  of   Gothic.  

Create  a  ten  song  playlist  of   Gothic  themed  music.  Write  a   paragraph  to  explain  your   choices.  

Create  your  own  character  for  a   Gothic  horror  story.  Illustrate   your  character  and  label  it  to   show  how  he  or  she  suits  the   Gothic  genre.  

Write  a  Gothic  poem,  using  your   knowledge  of  gothic  seJngs   and  the  techniques  usually   used.  

Create  a  3d  model  for  a  Gothic   seJng.  Label  your  model  to   explain  your  choices.  

Create  a  board  game  to  test   someone’s  knowledge  of   Gothic.  

Create  a  pain4ng  or  drawing   that  could  be  used  as  a  Gothic   seJng.  

Plan  out  a  Gothic  horror  film-­‐   include  a  4meline  of  the  plot,   characters,  soundtrack,  seJng   and  maybe  an  extract  of  the   script.  

Create  a  mul4-­‐material  sheet   that  shows  the  Gothic  genre-­‐   what  colours  and  materials   represent  the  gothic?  Consider   the  weather  in  your  sheet.  

Write  your  own  Gothic  story.   Consider  your  vocabulary  and   sentence  structure  to  build   tension.  

Create  a  video  tutorial  to  test   someone’s  knowledge  of   Gothic.  Make  it  scary  so  it  is   suitably  Gothic!
