Tonight, the Yeshiva University men’s basketball team hosts the defending Skyline Conference champion Farmingdale State Rams, in a conference battle, at the Max Stern Athletic Center. The Rams won both head-to-head meetings last season. TBA Tonight marks the beginning of a six-game homestand for Yeshiva. The Maccabees are 3-1 on their home court, so far this year, including 2-1 against conference opponents. Last time out, Yeshiva dropped a heartbreaker to Skyline rival Purchase College, 67-65, at the Purchase College gymnasium on Thursday evening. Yeshiva’s game against Maritime College, scheduled for this past Saturday night, was postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be rescheduled on Tuesday, December 19, at 8:00 p.m. Simcha Halpert was once again named to the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll, this past Monday. He also earned Honorable Mention accolades by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association, back on December 4. Halpert is first in the conference in points per game (23.2). He is tied for the team-lead with 3.8 assists per contest and has a team-high 11 total steals. For the season, Bar Alluf is averaging 17.6 points per game and six rebounds per contest.
