Just check out this lonely-looking selfie taken by comedian Russell Kane in the artist area at V Festival! Here, Russell, 35, talks us through the snap, confesses his biggest selfie fail and reveals he’s always being mistaken for Nick Grimshaw! Talk us through your festival selfie… I headlined at both Chelmsford and Staffordshire – they’re really big gigs. I’ve always wanted to play there. Comedy at festivals has really ramped up in recent years. The crowd can easily get up to a couple of thousand, which for comedy feels like a rock star atmosphere. I did a selfie of me and my dog Colin and his ID tag was the other way round with my phone number and address on there! Do you have any other funny selfie stories? People think I’m Nick Grimshaw! I actually get more people thinking I’m Nick than thinking I’m me. I was at a pool party with a girl and this girl came over to me and said, “I don’t understand why you’re doing that. My brother came out because of you and you feel the need to lie in public.” She thought I was Nick pretending to be straight in public. I won’t spoil it, but this forms a large narrative that runs through my DVD. What’s been your most successful selfie? My most retweeted selfie was my “cock in a sock” one. It was for charity.
