About this event At Regen we spend a lot of time shouting about the good things going on with community energy and the commercial renewables sector. We would love you to join us which is why we are launching Community Energy Champions as part of our work supporting communities. We are looking to recruit a band of enthusiastic and confident supporters of community and renewable energy who can stand up locally in favour of projects in the south west. We believe community energy and renewable energy projects that properly engage local residents and offer appropriate local benefits are an asset in any community, giving us greater energy security, helping us protect the environment and retain the economic benefit locally through the creation of jobs and use of the local supply chain. Despite opinion polls consistently showing a majority of the population are supportive of renewable energy1, our regional media is still filled with negative stories and letters, and the anti-wind lobby in particular are excellent at getting a lot of attention. We want your help to reverse this trend.
