Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
Dear Parent/Carer, Bronze Award – Changed Expedition Dates In my recent letter concerning the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, I gave dates for the assessed expedition that clashed with the Year 10 RS trip to Rome during the summer half term. I do apologise for not being aware of this trip. I am therefore moving the date of the assessed expedition to the weekend after half term. The full dates are now: Practice expedition Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th April (leaving the May Day bank holiday Monday for recuperation and revision before Year 10 trial exams) Assessed expedition Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th June. I hope that this means that more students feel able to participate. If the new date causes you a problem, please do get in touch. In each case, students will need to be delivered by car to a start point in the Surrey Hills area on Saturday morning, and picked up on the Sunday afternoon from the finish. This area is about 45 minutes’ drive from Epsom, between Guildford and Dorking. Car sharing within teams is positively encouraged. I attach another copy of the application form. These need to be completed, signed and returned to me by 3:30pm on Friday 27th January.
