This extension to the easyCar Club service will cater for van owners looking to put their vehicle to use in its downtime, and to drivers who may need a van to help move flat, pick up some new furniture or clear garden and household clutter. Owners can make thousands of pounds a year from renting out their van through this innovative, new service. easyCar Club offers free membership for owners and renters – with no joining fee or annual membership fees. The Club now covers both cars and vans, so the rental experience will be simple and straightforward, whatever a renter’s vehicle needs. easyCar Club’s comprehensive insurance package protects the owner’s vehicle (and no claims discount) for the period of the rental, giving peace of mind to both the owner and the renter. Own a van? Put it to work From a Transit to a Kangoo, easyCar Club now accepts most van types under 3.5 tonnes, up to 10 years old and with a replacement value of under £25,000. Vans may only be owned by an individual, sole trader, or a private limited company, provided in each case that they only own one van. All drivers are vetted thoroughly by easyCar Club when applying to join the Club, and owners can accept or reject all requests to hire their van. Owners stay in complete control, setting their own availability and choosing their own pricing.

Car owners can currently earn more than £3,500 per year for each car listed, and an average of £1,800 per year (or £150 per month). Vans have the same earning potential.

Partnership with Zenith Insurance offers car owners complete peace-of-mind. The owner’s insurance and no claims discount are protected, as drivers are comprehensively insured by easyCar Club for the full duration of their rental. There is no need for owners to advise their insurance company each time their car is hired.
Once accepted into easyCar Club, drivers can search for and drive cars in their local area without any need for further admin or paperwork. All drivers are vetted carefully when they initially register.

Insurance database and driving records are checked upon enrolment to ensure that only responsible drivers are allowed to join. Drivers must be over 25 and under 70 years old, must be UK citizens or living in the UK for at least 3 years, must have a valid UK/EU driving license and have been driving for a minimum 12 months. They must also have no more than 2 speeding convictions on their licence, and no other driving convictions or non-motoring criminal convictions.
Drivers simply choose the car they want to hire for the dates they want, book and pay for the car securely online, then collect the keys at the allotted time (either from the owner themselves or via a secure Key Safe)
