Ed Walsh Little League Board Meeting Agenda February 4, 2015, 6:00 pm Call to order : Present : Joe, Lisa, Pete, Marissa, Mark, John, Jen, and Bryan

Presidents meeting

D5 is hosting LL state tournament / big league. Tournament fee used to be $1.00 per player with a $400 cap to fund regional play. Now will be $2.00 per player with no cap.

Coaches clinic – D5 to host Big Al clinic. Should make mandatory to coaches. Will be split into two sessions – one for coaches of players 4-8 yrs old and one for coaches of 9-12 year old players…March 16th and 17th
•
March 28th from 8-12 – D5 umpires clinic @ Giametti Center. Free Q&A session for new/existing umpires – Reach out to Ron Dievert - should be mandatory for all umpires

Rock Cats – Family Day May 29th ; fundraiser night May 30th – need 12 volunteers.
•
Need to review current insurance policy to make sure we have adequate coverage – Jen to reach out to Liberty Mutual for copy of policy – shop it out for best coverage/rates. Treasury

Check was received from court (WG). Mark to cut reimbursement check to insurance company. Equipment Report

Equipment/uniforms – need 24 blue helmets, 2 catchers pads, scorebooks, clipboards, and practice balls. Bryan to touch base with Bob Billings regarding uniform needs. Safety Report

Concussion training – mandatory for coaches – online program

ASAP plan - # 8, #15 not accepted. Jen and John to complete.
•
Volunteer forms MUST have social security numbers on them – many of those we have received no SS #. Need previous yrs. Forms from Chad.

First aid/CPR – through Maggie?

Concessions – no new information Field Report - John working with Carabetta to redo dugouts. John to see if city will assist with clay.

Registrations – 3 registration dates remaining – 2/5 John Barry 6-8 pm; 2/18 Dicks Sporting Goods 5:30-8 and 2/21 Dicks Sporting Goods 11-1. Need to establish coverage. – Jen/Melissa for JB Number of registrations to date? 56 total Coaches – confirmed- Majors- Rob Avery, Pete Bennett, Tom O’Malley Farm A- Rob Kontoulis & JohnMennone; Farm B- Mr. Cloukey, need 1 or 2 additional head coaches.
T/C – Ozzie Ramos, Jesse Showerda, John Giuffreda, Ron Pitcher. Jen
to update LL Data Center Tryouts –schedule to accommodate new age chart. 7-8 yr olds; 9 yr olds; 10-12 yr olds VIIII. Umpires – PAID umpires – 1099’s and workers comp – Jen to reach out to Ron Dievert for clarification. Rod Pelletier attending umpire school. Misc discussion: April 4th and 11th – field clean up days. Going to see if Meriden Health Coalition can assist with volunteers. Water fundraiser – family donates a case of water or Gatorade, gets a credit towards registration or concession. Need icepacks and possibly new first aid kits. Jen to contact Greg at Hancocks Meriden Rotary to sponsor a farm A team this year. Aluminum signs needed – Jen to discuss with DOC Need coverage for Dicks registration nights
