Ed Walsh Little League Board Meeting Minutes, Special Meeting October 25, 2017 6:55pm- Meeting called to order o In attendance: Tom Kenney, Mike Duffy, Bryan Viger, Mike Moylan, Richard Leavitt, Rob Kontoulis, Chad Zima, Mel Bennett, Ashley Rivera, Angela Moylan, Nelson Muniz 6:58pm- President, Tom Kenney welcomes the new General Board and thanks everyone for their continued Work o Future visions for Ed Walsh Little League: o Warning track for FJ Kogut o New sign for the league o Trees to be removed by city o Paint for foul poles o Sheds need to be rehab o New concrete floor for storage, due to rodents digging under walls 7:04pm- Discussion, regarding Bylaws being placed on website (Edwalshll.com) 7:10pm- Discussion, regarding concession stand o Volunteers needed ▪ Thoughts of having high school seniors volunteer, as they need community service hours ▪ Senior center volunteers 7:23pm- Discussion, regarding interleague play with Jack Barry o Jack Barry Little League is adding a 4th “Majors” team, which needs to be discussed further, regarding how this will affect Ed Walsh and interleague. o Discussion, regarding interleague with Wallingford Little League 7:34pm- General Board agrees to have President, Tom Kenney to explore options, regarding interleague play with Wallingford Little League. 7:44pm- Discussion, regarding Fall Ball and the possibility of having a Fall Ball Director position 7:51pm- Discussion, regarding new 2018 bat rules o Majors to receive 30” bats o Minors to receive 29” bats o All bats to be purchased from Billings Sports, tentatively o Umpires to ensure bat eligibility 8:00pm- Opening Day 2018 to be Saturday, April 14, 2018 o Pictures to be completed following Opening Day ceremony
