COURSE RULES SHOWJUMPING RULES The course will consist of 12 jumps. The competitor may jump up to 6 different jumps – this includes the Joker. NOTE: Joker = double pts The score will be that of the number of the jump. Riders may jump in either direction but must start and finish between the flags. 1. Elimination for a fall or for 3 refusals over the entire SJ course. 2. No points for dropped rails. 3. No points for a refusal – you may attempt it again but it will increase your time and you will not get any points if you jump it the 2nd or 3rd consecutive time and you could be E on #3 refusal. 4. Only jump each jump once and a maximum of six jumps only. NOTE: Intro riders may only be able to do 4 - 5 jumps if they can’t jump > 60 cm. You may jump the same jump twice but only one score counts.
CROSS COUNTRY RULES 1. The competitor decides which height they wish to jump. They do not have to jump the same height throughout the course except for combinations where the same colour must be adhered to. 2. If a competitor has a stop at a jump [fall, run out, etc] they may jump a smaller jump if they wish and then proceed. No points will be scored for that jump. 3. Scoring will be approx. 60 cm – white = 10pts, 80 - 85 cm = blue 20pts, 90 - 105 cm = red 30pts, Jokers = green [40 pts]. If a horse stops, falls or has any other disobedience the score will be NIL at that obstacle/jump but you may continue as long as the welfare of the horse is paramount. 4. Slower riders – please give way before the obstacle if called to do so by the jump judge. 5. You will incur time faults if over the optimum time. 6. In the event of an equal after the cross country and show jumping, the rider with the fastest time for their SJ set of 6 will determine the placing. 7. You must provide a Cross country judge or pay $30.00 for us to supply one– this event will not start until we have a full compliment with relievers available to swap over. 8. Please try to ride the XC phase in back number order. They will number up from Class 6 – Class 1. 9. Gear check before this XC phase only.
