EL DORADO COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION CLASS SPECIFICATION CLASS TITLE: Vice Principal Job Purpose Statement/s: Maintain a safe school environment; coordinates assigned school activities, assists students to modify inappropriate behavior and develop successful interpersonal skills; communicates information to staff, principal and the public. Essential Job Functions:
Facilitates communication between personnel, students and/or parents for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving conflicts.
Facilitates various meetings (i.e. safety, site advisory, staff development, etc.) for the purpose of coordinating agendas and ensuring that outcomes achieve school, and/or state objectives. .
Prepares documentation (i.e. reports, correspondence, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.
Intervenes in occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students and/or parents for the purpose of assisting students in modifying inappropriate behavior, developing successful interpersonal skills and/or initiating disciplinary action.
Manages various school administrative functions for the purpose of enforcing school, and state policy and maintaining safety and efficiency of school operations.
Presents information on various topics for the purpose of communicating information and/or gaining feedback.
Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Assists in supervising, directing and evaluation of classified employees for the purpose of monitoring performance and carrying out objective of the program.
Attends various meetings for the purpose of communicating and/or gathering information
Job Requirements - Qualifications:
Experience Required: Five years experience working with high risk youth.

Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required:
Skills to appropriately manage personnel and programs, communicate effectively, problem solve. Knowledge of Charter Community School rules and regulations and appropriate behavior intervention strategies. Abilities to stand and sit for prolonged periods, provide direction to others and make independent judgments, keep and maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, communicate with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds, communicate in oral and written form. Significant physical abilities include reaching/handling/fingering, talking/hearing conversations, stooping, near visual acuity/visual accommodation.
Education Required: Valid California Teaching Credential
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required: TB test clearance, Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance. If required to operate a vehicle during the course of employment, must possess a valid California Driver’s License and evidence of insurability appropriate California teaching credential.
