THE AMAZON VISION Yesterday’s sponsored CEDIA Keynote featured Sarah Zenz, General Manager of Amazon’s Smart Home Services business, sharing how Amazon is helping customers take advantage of Smart Home experiences and supporting the business of CEDIA home technology professionals. Last year, Amazon showed the CEDIA audience that it was serious about driving new and innovative solutions designed to help drive profitability for the CEDIA channel. With an increasing number of new products offering Amazon Alexa compatibility, Ms. Zenz’s address was eagerly anticipated for the new ideas it would offer. Friday’s schedule finds Amazon offering two Manufacturer Product Training classes: ‘Designing with Alexa Today,’ from 10 a.m.-noon; and ‘Integrating Alexa Far-Field Voice Capabilities into Your Product with Intel and AVS’, from 3 p.m. to 5 pm. The ultimate goal is to reward those who strive for excellence, show a dedication to quality, and are committed to providing exceptional experiences to their clients. We aren’t interested in pitting businesses against each other; we simply want to reward the members who are consistently delivering excellence. Depending on the type of company, integrators could have one designation, or they could have all five. It really depends on what the focus is for their
specific organization. And once they have received the designation, they will be able to display their ‘badges of honor’ on all marketing materials, showcasing their dedication to the industry and professionalism. We are now working on the finer details to get this program up and running. We are looking for CEDIA members to help validate the work that we are doing by participating in a focus group or survey.
