Achievement Maximize the learning of all students. Our focus is to prepare children to become productive, successful, competitive members of our 21st century global society through a comprehensive K-12 educational model. Literacy and Math are considered the building blocks to higher level skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, and evaluation. Each student is expected to achieve a minimum of one year of growth annually. All students will receive individually appropriate support and intervention as needed. Students, whether high achieving or challenged learners, are valued. We provide an environment in which all students participate in rigorous and relevant learning experiences.

Curriculum

Develop rigorous curriculum to enhance student learning. Preparing students to be successful in a 21st century society and economy requires a high quality curriculum that incorporates the ability to think in complex and creative ways, and apply knowledge and skills to new and changing situations. Students also need to acquire the information and communication technology skills that are essential to everyday life and productivity. This curriculum design will improve student achievement and be supported by professional learning.

Professional Learning Implement district initiatives through effective professional learning. Professional learning by all employees is the cornerstone to the improvement of student achievement. Professional learning is driven by the assessment of student strengths and needs and the identification of district researched best practices. Implementation of these practices requires collaborative learning, reflection, refinement, and leadership.

4

Community

Health and Wellness Actively support the physical, emotional, and mental health of students.

The physical, emotional and mental well being of a student is critical to his/her academic success and future accomplishments. Ongoing and focused K-12 initiatives to promote healthy choices and reduce risk-taking behaviors will be developed and implemented with collaboration and support from students, teachers, parents and our community.

Expand processes of communication to support our community needs. The Kimberly Area School District is the common factor between our school community and the citizens of six area municipalities. The district promotes ongoing communication with all members of the community to develop a vision for education. We invite involvement in our schools, the development of partnerships and the creation of educational opportunities for all learners. The district aspires to develop processes that identify and meet the needs of our community.
