Nurse Medication is to be brought in only by parents or adults. Also, medication administration forms must be filled out for medication to be given.

Math We are starting a new unit on Geometry. Students will learn about geometric shapes, perimeter, area, & volume. Be sure your child is fluent in their multiplication math facts! Friday, timed multiplication facts drill!

Fifth Grade Newsletter

Reading This week we will be starting to look at across genre text. This is where the students will see multiple genre across a specific text given. We will be reviewing many new techniques to help prepare for the STAAR. There will be homework passed out on Monday and returned on Friday. It is in a newsletter form and has a tic-tac-toe assignment on the bottom portion. Also, iStation can be done at home. The students login will be their first name, last initial and then password will be lunch number. Let’s get them on this great program! Mrs. Phipps will be holding morning homework assistance the week of January 23-27th. I will be available to help any students with reading tutorials during this time as well. It starts at 6:45-7:30.Tutorials will start January 16th. Reading tutorials will be on Monday and Wednesdays!

Social Studies In Social Studies we will be covering different areas across the United States. We will then be moving into the Revolutionary War and who was important during this time. We also will look into the many battles during this era.

Library Day will be on Monday. Make sure to bring your books each week!

starting the section on formation of fossil fuels.

Ms. Kolenda’s classes will have homework given Monday and due Friday 1/13/2017.

Our Candy Cane grams sold moderately well. We will be preparing next for the Carnations on Valentine’s Day.
