Emergency Personnel a. Coaching staff on site for practice and competitions b. Certified/Licensed Athletic Trainer on-call for practice and on-site for competitions 2. Emergency Communication a. Mobile telephone with certified/licensed athletic trainer b. Aquatic Center Office (239.590.7700) 3. Emergency Equipment a. First aid field kits available on-site b. Emergency equipment including spine board and AED available on-site 4. Role of First Responders a. Immediate care of the injured or ill student-athlete b. Emergency equipment retrieval c. Activation of the emergency medical system (EMS through campus police) i. Call 239.590.1911 (provide name, address, telephone number, number of individuals injured, condition of injured, first aid treatment, specific directions, other information as requested. Be the last to hang up ii. Indicate venue d. Direction of EMS to scene i. Designate an individual to unlock/open appropriate doors/gates ii. Designate an individual to “flag down” EMS and direct to scene iii. Scene control: limit scene to first aid providers and move bystanders away from the area 5. Venue Location a. Take main entrance off of Ben Hill Griffin Pkwy b. Take first left on Loop Road c. Take first left on North Drive d. Take first right on Lake Pkwy. East e. Aquatic Center located right hand side in front of Alico Arena f. On the pool deck EMS access through main entry of FGCU Aquatic Center unless otherwise indicated during the call 6.
