DESCRIPTION

SIZING

A crocheted flower headband for your little girl.

Abbreviations Adjustable-ring method = Wrap yarn into a ring, ensuring that the tail falls behind the working yarn. Grip ring and tail firmly between middle finger and thumb. Insert hook through center of ring, yarn over (with working yarn) and draw up a loop. Work stitches of first round in the ring. After the first round of stitches is worked, pull gently, but firmly, on tail to tighten ring

INSTRUCTIONS FLOWER 1 With B, ch 5; join with sl st in first ch to form a ring. Round 1: Ch 1, work 9 sc in ring; join with sl st in first sc—9 sc. Round 2: Ch 5, working in front loops only, sl st in next sc, *ch 5, sl st in next sc; repeat from * around; join with sl st in sc at base of beginning ch-5—9 ch-5 loops. Fasten off B. Round 3: Working in unworked back loops of Round 1, join A with sl st in free back loop of any sc, ch 6, sl st in same sc, ch 6, *(sl st, ch 6, sl st) in next sc, ch 6; repeat from * around; join with sl st in same sc as first sl st—18 ch-6 loops. Fasten off A. FLOWER 2 With C, ch 5; join with sl st in first ch to form a ring. Round 1: Ch 1, work 10 sc in ring; join with sl st in first sc—10 sc. Round 2: Ch 8, working in front loops only, sl st in next sc, *ch 8, sl st in next sc. repeat from * around; join with sl st in sc at base of beginning ch-8—10 ch-8 loops. Fasten off C. Center: With B, make an adjustable ring; [sc in ring, ch 7] 5 times; join with sl st in first sc—5 ch-7 loops. Pull gently but firmly on beginning tail to close ring. Sew to center of Flower 2. FLOWER 3 With B, work same as Flower 2, Rounds 1 and 2 (do not make a center)—10 ch-8 loops. Fasten off. FINISHING Arrange flowers, close together, in a cluster. Sew flowers together to form cluster. Headband Assembly: With A, leaving a 12"/30.5cm tail for tying, ch 48 (for first part of headband); sl st to back of one side of cluster, ch 4 or 5 (to extend across back of cluster), sl st to back of other side of cluster; ch 28 (for 2nd part of headband). Fasten off leaving a 12"/30.5cm tail for tying. Using yarn needle, weave in all ends. To wear, use 12"/30.5cm tails to tie ends of headband together.
