FREDERICKSBURG FC

FFC WAY U11 - U15 BOYS AND GIRLS

Parents, My name is David Shaw, and I am the Technical Director of Coaching for Fredericksburg FC. I would like to take this opportunity to share with you all the direction and new Programming for the U11 - U15 Boys and Girls Age Groups for the 2016-2017 Season. The Club has worked tremendously hard over the last 18 months to ensure we constantly strive to provide the best Staff and Programs for our Players in the Fredericksburg Area. We are extremely excited about the 2016-2017 Season, and truly believe this Year the Club will continue to make huge strides on and off the Field. The Progress and ground that has been covered this past Season has been quite impressive. We would like to thank all of you for your support, and for buying into the big picture of Fredericksburg FC. Moving into the 2016-2017 Season, Fredericksburg FC wants to make sure that all Players in the Club have access and exposure to the current and new Technical Staff. This was difficult at times in the past, as Coaches were covering a lot of Ground with individual Teams. With the new additions into the Club for this 2016-2017 Season, we are happy to announce a new Program that can combat this issue. The Program is called FFC WAY. FFC WAY is a Program designed for the U11 - U15 Boys and Girls Age Groups at Fredericksburg FC. The Program will be conducted and overseen by the Full Time Technical Staff, and will serve as the first Session of the Week for all U11 U15 Boys and Girls Teams. The purpose of the FFC WAY Program is to create and establish a true identity of how Players at Fredericksburg FC play. FFC Way will install and build a recognizable image of how FFC Teams Play. We are also trying to build a structure so that when Players move from one Age Group to another, or one Coach to another, the same concepts and approach are being continued throughout the Club. Once a Week all Teams in the Age Group will Pool together, and follow the Session Plan provided for the Week from the FFC WAY Curriculum. Ideally we would like Players mixed together in these Pools, but we understand that certain Age Groups will still need to be divided up by Skill Level. However, Coaches will use this Session to invite Players in to experience the Black Team, or Red Team environments. If Teams in the Age Group cannot be mixed, then multiple Sessions will be side by side, with Coaches floating back and forth from each Group. We are extremely excited and keen to begin this Program in the Fall 2016-2017 Season. All Fredericksburg FC Staff and Coaches have met to discuss the Program, and are all very much onboard with the direction for these Age Groups. All Teams in the U11 - U15 Boys and Girls Age Groups will have their same amount of Training Sessions each Week, however, FFC WAY will be for one of those Sessions. U11 - U12 Boys and Girls Session 1 - FFC Way Session 2 - Individual Team Session with their Head Coach U13 - U14 Boys and Girls Session 1 - FFC Way Session 2 - Individual Team Session with their Head Coach Session 3 - Individual Team Session with their Head Coach

U15 Boys and Girls Session 1 - FFC Way Session 2 - Individual Team Session with their Head Coach Session 3 - Individual Team Session with their Head Coach The Curriculum will focus on the following concepts and emphasis: Competing Progressing from One Player Up scenarios, to Even Player scenarios. Tight playing areas to encourage physical contact, and a high workload. These Sessions are designed to encourage our Players to Physically compete better with opposition. Crossing and Finishing Basic ideas of how Players can create ideas in wide areas to provide quality and purposeful crosses into the Penalty Area. This will include 2-3 Players at a max in any one situation in wide areas. Basic ideas of how Players can combine In and Around the Penalty Area to create shots on Goal. This will include 2-3 Players at a max in any one situation, and can include multiple shots and balls. Enjoyable Small Sided Games are also created for both of these Concepts. Passing and Moving Small to Medium sized unopposed Passing Patterns and Movements. In these Sessions we want to create Fast, Sharp, One and Two Touch Passing. Always involving a Movement after the action is essential. Patterns will include multiple Players, and occasionally when appropriate, multiple balls. Attack v Defense Small Sided Games that bring out the intensity and demands of fast Attacking, and resilient Defending. These Sessions will always be equal numbers v equal numbers. Themes can change from Attacking Team Playing to a Goal, and Defending Team Playing to an End Line, Small Goals v Big Goals, and finally, Big Goals v Big Goals. More details regarding the start Dates, Times, and Location for your Son’s and Daughter’s Age Groups will be made available once we get through Tryouts. The process will be very simple, and should be looked at as just a regular Team Session during the Week. This Session is not optional, and all Players must attend. Head Coaches from all U11 - U15 Boys and Girls Age Groups will attend the Session to assist the Technical Staff. Thank you again for your support to allow Fredericksburg FC to implement the Programming that will directly benefit your Sons and Daughters. The FFC WAY Program is very exciting, and we are all very much looking forward to kicking this Program off in the Fall of 2016. Thanks, and see you all at May Tryouts!
