Parents, My name is David Shaw, and I am the Technical Director of Coaching for Fredericksburg FC. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for attending the 2002-1998 Boys and Girls Information Evening last Wednesday April 20th. There was a great turn out from families, and it was exciting to share our ideas and plans with the future U16 - U19 Boys and Girls Age Groups. Thank you all for coming with an open mind, and contributing towards a very productive evening. After much consideration and discussions within the Technical Staff, we have decided to go with the following Plan of Action for the 2016-2017 U16 - U19 Boys and Girls Age Groups. A lot of factors were taken into consideration with this decision, but we feel we have gained positive and valuable feedback from this experience. The Club was also very happy and surprised with the responses regarding the Information Evening last Wednesday. After reviewing the response Sheets that Members filled out, the result was roughly 80-20 in favor of moving forward with the Fredericksburg FC PRENPSL / WPSL Program for the U16 - U19 Boys and Girls Age Groups. I am glad that the Program was receptive and welcomed by the majority of the Membership. This speaks volumes of the progress of the Club, and the positive direction that we are all heading in. For the 2016-2017 Tryouts, Fredericksburg FC will be selecting Black and Red Teams as we have always done so each Year at Tryouts. When signing up and attending Tryouts, Players will be assessed and then assigned to the Black or Red Team in your Son or Daughters appropriate Age Group. In December 2016 Fredericksburg FC will host PRE-NPSL / WPSL tryouts for the U16 - U19 Boys and Girls Age Groups. We will be introducing the Fredericksburg FC PRE-NPSL / WPSL Program into the Club, which will begin in February 2017, and run through to June 2017. Players that are not interested in Participating in the Fredericksburg FC PRE-NPSL / WPSL Program, will not have their Season affected or changed. Fredericksburg FC will begin the PRE-NPSL / WPSL Program once the regular U16 - U19 Boys and Girls Season finishes in February 2017. This is when all High School Aged Players break off to Play in their High School Soccer Season as usual. Players that were selected to participate in the Fredericksburg FC PRE-NPSL / WPSL Program will begin Training, and Players that either were not selected or do not want to participate, will merge into their usual High School Soccer Season. The Players not involved, will have their usual Scheduled One Session a Week High School Session at Fredericksburg FC; no different to what we are doing now, or have always done. We truly believe this is an excellent path for all U16 - 19 Boys and Girls Players at Fredericksburg FC. Not only are we adding an additional Program for all Players that are seeking the next Level environment, but we are also providing Players what they have always had and require for the future at Fredericksburg FC. This way absolutely nothing is being taken away from any current or future Player at Fredericksburg FC, but also ensuring that we continue to provide the best Training and Programming in the Fredericksburg area. Again, I want to thank you for your tremendous support and open mind regarding our ideas to provide your Sons and Daughters with what they need at Fredericksburg FC.
