From Your Pastor’s Heart
April 24, 2016
We welcome all of you to our Awana closing program this morning. This program is just a sample of all the different activities that the Awana clubbers enjoyed throughout the year. Every Wednesday evening included lessons, memory verses, game time, food and lots of fun! All of this was made possible through the hard work of people who love the Lord and love children. I appreciate the Awana team that makes this program so awesome year after year. Most of our Awana workers work a full eight hour day at their jobs, then come to the church on Wednesday evening and spend three more hours sharing the love of Jesus with some very high-energy youngsters! Many hours of preparation are invested in every evening of the Awana action. I am thankful for every member of the Awana team. At the close of this program we will be sending home with you something very special. If we were to send a two-carat diamond home with every family…that would be super special! A two carat diamond is only about the size of an English pea, but costs over $10,000. No doubt, if we carried one home, we’d treat it with great care. We would put it in a safe place. We would definitely know where it was at all times and certainly would never be careless in who we allowed to handle it. After all, a diamond is worth a lot! We are actually sending home with you something even more precious than a sack full of two carat diamonds! We are sending home with you your own children. Each and every child is worth more than all the diamonds in the world. Every precaution we would take with a two-carat diamond should be just the starting place in how we take care of our children. Handle them with care. Personally protect them. Know where they are at all times and who they are with. After all, every child is priceless. Bro. Eric
