'how' sunflower fun facts • My scientific name is Helianthus, Helia for sun and Anthus for flower. • If you look carefully at my flower head I am not one flower but thousands of tiny flowers joined together!!! • The tallest Sunflower on record was grown in the Netherlands at 25' tall, the tallest humans on earth are also from the Netherlands!! • Did you know that the Sunflower has many uses – its seeds provide food for humans, animals and birds and oil from the seeds is used for anything from cooking to powering motor cars !
