Approval of Minutes  The minutes of the July Vestry were amended (Mentoring sermon series removed) and added (A Small Groups Leaders program lead by Ruth Wilkins will be held on four Sunday’s in October), and approved. Rector’s Report Attendance  Father Andy presented the Rector’s report. Attendance in July was good (2.6%), expecting a small increase in August. Staffing  The search for a Student Ministry Assistant continues. Growing Young  Father Andy would like to defer the Growing Young discussion to the next meeting when everyone is present. RALLY DAY  Rally Day will be September 10th, trying something new by everyone bringing a covered dish and having food in the main hallway, on the way to Jordan Hall where there will be one exit. There will be one service on Rally Day TBD. Father Andy is asking vestry members to get the word out to the ministries and connect with Ruth to assure they have a booth for Rally Day. Eric Metaxas  A meeting was held last night prior to the vestry meeting to plan for the Eric Metaxas event including establishing committees for advertising, how to fill the seats, etc. The COVE  Father Andy will take the vestry for a tour following the meeting to show the recent remodel of the cove which is about 50% completed. It will be 80% complete by the end of this year and should be finished in 2018. Mentoring  Father Andy is working on two different mentoring (also known as Discipleship); individual which is more spontaneous and harder to create and group which is more structured.  Jodie mentioned she has invited approximately 50 young moms to get together on Monday, August 28th at 7:00 p.m. and invited other vestry members to attend.

Senior Warden’s Report  Father Andy shared the Senior Warden’s report as Page Lea was absent. Page Miyares mentioned she knows of two companies in the area for the facility reserve audit and will pass them along to Henry. Junior Warden’s Report Hunter was absent  Henry brought up the extensive cleaning of the venting system of Jordon Hall which took about 6 hours and they found no mold.  Jimmy Jordan asked about the status of the Cavalier party wall – Andy explained it was noticed that the height was not as high as promised. Work on the fence stopped while the height issue was being vetted. After meeting with the Cavalier foreman and lawyer, the height issue was resolved and the contractor is back on track to finish the party wall by the end of August. Treasurer’s Report Monthly Financial Results  Archie presented the finance report. Attendance was good in July 2.6% cumulative for the year. Flat to budget. Negative to unpledged collections has been re-classed in addition to the payment on the Cavalier lot purchase.  Jodie asked about YTD ($284,715) negative net activity/inflow and it was explained this is normal as our cash flow is low during the summer and then it increases at the start of school (August 15-September 15 when school payments are made) and at Christmas time.  Page asked for a yearly 2017 budget. Old Business Lay Alternates to Annual Council  A list of lay alternates to Annual Council has been compiled and will be completed by the end of the week.  Female Youth Leader – not finding the right fit, Marty is still spearheading the search. New Business  Susan Wynne presented her Pastoral Care Liaison Report. She reviewed the nine ministries under Pastoral Care headed by Mary Lee Harris who works with Rev. Kate and Fr. Patrick: TLC, Flower Power, Eucharist Visitors, New Moms, Baby Blessing, Knitting Group, Advocates for Mental Health, Prayer Chain, and Prayer Cards.  Nominating Committee and Stewardship Committees are underway.  Marty’s youth trip to Uganda is maxed out at 15 students, now adults would like to go, up to 30 total. Father Andy will commit $10,000 to defray the cost of the trip.  The Bazaar will be held November 18th Adjournment

The business meeting was adjourned at 8:10 pm prior to Faith Sharing and a tour of The Cove.
