Monmouth (3-0, NEC 0-0) at Colgate (1-1, Patriot League 0-0) Saturday, September 23, 2006 • 1:05 Andy Kerr Stadium - Hamilton, N.Y. GAME DAY The Colgate Raiders (1-1) bring a seven-game winning streak on their home turf into Saturday's non-conference game against undefeated Monmouth (3-0) at Andy Kerr Stadium. Kickoff is 1:05 p.m. One thing for sure, the Raiders won't take this game lightly because they have vivid memories of the only previous encounter with a Northeast Conference opponent. In last year's opener, Central Connecticut pulled off a huge upset over the Raiders, 24-22, on a last second field goal. That snapped Colgate's 17-game home winning streak which was the longest in NCAA Division I-AA football. Overall, the Raiders have won 22 of their last 24 games at Andy Kerr Stadium. Colgate opened its season on the road losing to nationally-ranked Massachusetts (28-7), before rebounding last Saturday with a 28-7 win over Dartmouth. Sophomore tailback Jordan Scott led Colgate with 169 yards rushing on 26 carries and three touchdowns, while senior quarterback Mike Saraceno connected on 14-of-16 passes for 175 yards and one TD. Defensively, the Raiders held Dartmouth to 54 yards on the ground. Monmouth, meanwhile, has been perfect through its first three games with victories over Fordham (23-9), Morgan State (26-9) and St. Peter's (36-12). TICKETS Tickets for the Colgate-Monmouth game are available at the Raider Ticket Office (315-228-7600). They are priced at $12 for reserved seats, $10.00 for general admission, and $5.00 for children in the general admission section. COLGATE VS. NEC TEAMS This is only the second time that Colgate has played a team from the Northeast Conference. Last year, Central Connecticut defeated Colgate at Andy Kerr Stadium, 24-22, on a last second field goal. THE SERIES This is the first meeting between Colgate and Monmouth. COLGATE-MONMOUTH CONNECTION Monmouth head coach Kevin Callahan was on the Colgate staff for nine years between 1984-1992. He served as defensive coordinator for eight years, and was assistant head coach in 1992. During his tenure he coached the linebackers for seven years and secondary for two seasons. Monmouth defensive coordinator Andy Bobik was Colgate's defensive line coach for six years (1987-92). He is a 1982 graduate of Colgate and lettered one year in football before injuries cut his career short. He started his coaching career as an undergraduate assistant with the Raiders. 10 STRAIGHT WINNING SEASONS

Colgate is one of seven Division I-AA programs sporting a streak of 10 or more winning seasons. The others are Eastern Kentucky (28), Montana (20), Dayton (13), Appalachian St. (12), Duquesne (12), and Western Kentucky (10). The Raiders have never had a losing season under head coach Dick Biddle.
