World Book Day Wow! There were some truly fantastic costumes on display yesterday. It was a great opportunity to celebrate our favourite books and have a bit of fun as well!

Punctuality: 8 children were late last week, some on more than one occasion, which meant we had 10 occasions were children arrived late to lessons.

An enormous well done to 4M for entertaining and informing us with a dose of Munshi magic! Thank you for their hard work and talking about online safety, a serious subject, in a light hearted way!

Mersey Travel—Safety Event Last Friday Mersey Travel ran a safety event at our school for Year 6. They enjoyed a day of drama, rapping and important safety messages. A huge thank you to Mersey Travel and our Year 6 for working so hard—it was a great day!

Parent Info Our school is working with CEOP and the Parent Zone to provide parents with useful and relevant information and advice about keeping their children safe online line. There are currently 79 articles on our website at:

Duncombe Road South Entrance For the 14th March we will no longer use the Berners Road entrance and will start to use the Duncombe Road South Entrance as we did before the building work started. As you know we had planned to do this from September 2015 but the delays in building work prevented this.

9.15am 3T class assembly - parents are welcome to come along!

Maths

Read and convert 12 hour and 24 hour clocks using digital and analogue clocks. Progressing to solving problems involving time.

Our News:

Running for fun will be on Tuesday and Friday lunchtimes. Can children who would like to attend the club, please bring spare socks, trainers and sports clothing (which you don’t mind getting dirty) for the club.

17th March 9.15am 3L class assembly - parents are welcome to come along! 17th—22nd March Book fair—our book fair will be at school. Children will be able to buy books at lunch time and after school.

Numeracy – measure problems Tables – We will do a tables test covering all tables up to 12x12. Playing ‘hit the button’ on the top marks website would be useful practise. http://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button Literacy – write a recount from the plan completed last week It is important that reading books are read regularly. Please listen to your child read and encourage them to change their book.

Year 5 will offered the chance to complete a cycle training course later this month. Letters to follow. 5G will have their next cookery session Tuesday afternoon.

Telling the time and Roman numerals.

Homework

Times tables tests as usual. Reading homework as usual. Spelling homework will be given out on Thursday and the test will be on Thursday. We have new spelling groups with new names. Maths- Mixed addition and subtraction.

We are looking forward to 3T’s class assembly on Thursday.

Black trainers Can you please ensure that your child has school shoes and not black trainers to wear for school. We allow children to change into their trainers at play and dinner time if they wish—but they must have shoes to wear. Thanks for your support over this! 
