FOOD DRIVE

Soccer is the best! And at age 10, Cam is pretty good and is one of the major reasons for his team’s success. As the goalie, he has played 10 shutout games - the most in the district. He is all set for today’s game and is going for the provincial record! Today, if he can keep the other team from scoring, he will break the record of 11 shutouts! At halftime, Cam’s team is ahead 3 - 0. As he gets ready to run back onto the field, his coach pulls him aside and tells him to take a seat as his teammate can get some experience playing goal. This is certainly going to ruin his chance at the shutout record. The other boy is A. Say, “With all the food we’ve collected, the family should not as good a goalie as Cam is and will probably ruin his chance at the record. What do you think Cam should do? have lots to eat for a long time”. B. Challenge Kim’s family to a food-drive playoff to see A. Carly’s family wanted to help a family that had a lot of medical bills and now doesn’t have much money for food. When the church began a food drive for the family, Carly’s family worked hard during the week, collecting food from their neighborhood. On Sunday, she and her family brought in ten bags of groceries. When she walked into class, Carly’s friends say, “Hey; did you hear? Kim’s family brought ten bags of groceries!” There was Kim, in the middle of a group, bragging about how hard she had worked. What should Carly do?

When Jason gets up on Saturday morning, rain is coming down in buckets. An hour later the scout master calls and says that the race will be cancelled until the next morning. After hanging up the phone, Jason realizes that the next day is Sunday and he will have to miss church in order to attend the race. He always goes to church, but he really wants to race his boat. The weekend was finally here. Paul is looking forward to a lazy Saturday with nothing to do - especially no homework. When he came down to breakfast on Saturday morning he found a paper beside his cereal bowl ... it was a list of chores that he had to complete before he could play with his friends. Paul looks at the list: make your bed, clean your room, help Dad wash the car, rake the leaves. What are his parents thinking? This is the weekend and Paul should have some time to himself without having to do any work! What should he do?

GONE MISSING

Mattie is working on her spelling when she sees a flash of yellow out of the corner of her eye. A girl across the room is slipping a yellow umbrella into her backpack. Mattie quickly looks away. It’s not just any girl, it’s the oldest and meanest girl in the school. It’s well understood that you don’t mess with her and Mattie makes a point of following that rule. Mattie goes back to work. At the end of the day, however, one of the girls in the class says she has lost her new yellow umbrella. Mattie looks around to see if anyone speaks up. No one seems to have a clue as to what happened. What do you think Mattie should do?

!

A. Offer her own umbrella to the girl in order to keep the peace. B. Talk to the teacher after class and tell her what she saw. C. Forget about it because she wan’t sure it was an umbrella - it might have been a banana!

CHECK OUT Zechariah 8:16 to see how Mattie should handle the situation. Think of a time that you faced a situation like Mattie __________________________________________ __________________________________________
