Student Recognition – submitted by Annie Peters The 2017-2018 Grand Valley Youth Philanthropy Board (GVYPB) Members: Tyler Easton, Sydni Samsa, Lauren Bachman, Erica Carlson, Tracey Jones, Josie Pucel, Lilly Portman, Chris Battaglia, Shannon Binns, Madyson McDonald GVYPB Members made signs for the “GIVE BACK WEEK”, October 13-20, 2017. The GVYPB members are hosting a canned food drive at Grand Valley High School to benefit The Country Neighbor Food Pantry. The Country Neighbor provides meals for local residents and is an integral part of the Grand Valley Community. Last year, the GVYPB, partnering with the Ashtabula Foundation, funded steam table pans and a commercial food processor for the Country Neighbor kitchen. The Grand Valley Youth Philanthropy Board felt being able to conduct a food drive was a great way to show appreciation for the positive impact The Country Neighbor Organization has on the Grand Valley Community.

RESOLUTION FOR COMPLIMENTARY PASSES: Motion by Mr. Jackson and seconded by Mr. Hendershott to approve the resolution for complimentary passes: WHEREAS, in accordance with state law, the Board of Education offers certain benefits to our employees; and WHEREAS, the Board of Education offers certain benefits to community residents and other individuals; and WHEREAS, the District and community benefit through the presence of District faculty, staff, and others identified in this resolution at school sponsored regular season athletic events; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Grand Valley School District Board of Education as follows: The Board of Education provides complimentary passes and waives payment of any entry fee to the events listed below for all full time and part time employees, Senior Citizens – 60 years of age and older, Former Board of Education members, Volunteer Athletic Workers, College Recruiters/Scouts, Bus Drivers, Press, Conference League Passes and other people specifically approved by the Superintendent for the 2017-2018 school year. Complimentary passes/payment waiver applies to the following District events: 1. Accept donation of $90.00 from Seeds Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine donated back to Grand Valley Athletics for performing 10 athlete sports physicals.

Accept donation of $2,356.04 from the Soltis family to the Grand Valley FFA fund #200-9206. Lowell Moodt, AG teacher & FFA director would like to personally thank the Soltis family for their feeder steer. Mr. Moodt and the FFA would also like to thank the Yuhasz Brothers Farm and Crooked Fence Farms for their contribution to this donation.
