2. How can we know when we are not fully trusting the Lord with our future [story]? 3. Mark briefly referred to five Old Testament men whose stories included improbable, impossible, and impressive elements: Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, and Gideon. Is there one of these characters with whom you most identify? If so, why? 4. Isaiah 47:10 (MSG) reads, "You were so confident and comfortable in your evil life, saying, 'No one sees me.' You thought you knew so much, had everything figured out. What delusion! Smugly telling yourself, 'I'm Number One. There's nobody but me." Ecclesiastes 10:13 (NLT) reads, "Fools base their thoughts on foolish assumptions, so their conclusions will be wicked madness." What is it in the human heart that causes people to think that they can write their own story and control their future? 5. Mark made this statement: "If you're going to experience His-story, there has to be cooperation and collaboration with the Author of life, the one who knows the past, present, and future." How do you think or feel you can cooperate and collaborate with the Author of your life in 2017?
Two Prayer Points: One, some of you may be turning the page on a very difficult 2016. Share with each other a brief description of the difficulties, pray for one another and ask God to help you move into the New Year with a new level of trust in the Lord. Two, an exciting year is ahead for Hope Church, as we move forward with a new name, a new look, and a new purpose. Pray for Pastor Frank and the pastoral team, as they provide spiritual leadership for our church. Let's believe together that our next chapter will be our best chapter...our next year our best year.
