Dear Parents/Guardian As I am sure you are aware the GCSE exam season starts on Monday 15th May. All students have been given an examination timetable. Can I encourage you to ensure your child is aware of their exams and support them in their revision, if you would like guidance on how to support your child with their revision do not hesitate to contact school.
All students at Bamburgh School receive extra time and as a result of this some afternoon examinations can finish after 3pm. The examination which finishes later than 3pm is the DT graphic products examination on Tuesday 20th June this examination will finish at 3.30pm. Alternative transport arrangements will need to be made for students sitting this exam as their school transport will leave at 3pm.
Bamburgh School pays the examination fees for all external examinations taken by students. If a student fails to attend for an external examination without presenting a doctor's note/medical certificate for that specific day, or does not have a satisfactory reason supported by evidence, the school will have no choice but to invoice that student’s parent or carer with the full examination fee. A student missing an external examination due to a holiday will be charged the full examination fee. The cost of the GCSE examinations is £35.70 per subject. GCSE results day is Thursday 24th August. School will be open from 10 till 12 for pupils to collect their results. If you have any concern about your child’s examinations please contact me at school.
