Have A Little Faith Bed quilt is set on point within a Star Block with Shoo Fly Variation setting units and a Piano Key outer border. Begin by laying your blocks out on point. Rearrange them so that color and value are evenly distributed throughout the quilt top. Once you’ve determined the placement of each block, sort through your scraps to construct star blocks. Choose fabrics in color and value that will give the quilt a harmonious look. Select scraps at random to construct the Shoo Fly Variation setting units. Insert the setting units in your quilt top layout, rearranging them until you are pleased with color and value distribution.

Have A Little Faith PATTERN

Setting Block: Shoo Fly I chose the Shoo Fly Variation block for the setting units of Have A Little Faith: Bed Quilt. The original Shoo Fly block is an even 9-patch. The variation block is an uneven 9 -patch, with the center unit smaller than the half-squares. The Shoo Fly block is also known as Fence Row or Simplicity. In the Have A Little Faith Bed Quilt, the Shoo Fly Variation block serves as a fence row, surrounding the feature blocks throughout the quilt. Like the feature blocks, each person’s faith story is unique and personal. And yet, we share something in common with all other believers. Just like neighbors who share a common fence row, we share God’s word in the Holy Bible. God’s word is our fence row, providing us with structure, guidelines and boundaries. So when you feel like your world is spinning out of control, Have A Little Faith, and trust the Lord to be your guide. The space below is provided for your personal reflection. _____________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________
