In Maths before half term we worked on shape, space and measure and we had a shape treasure hunt. Since then we have been learning about money.
In Science we have been studying change of states and have enjoyed experimenting with ice, water and water vapour. We melted chocolate and cooked eggs to investigate reversible and irreversible changes.
In Literacy we have been looking at Traditional Tales and retelling these stories with a twist! We have heard about the Horrible Pigs and the Big Friendly Wolf and have tried altering other tales to give a funny ending. We have used lots of different methods to help us compose sentences.
Our History topic was about the lives of children in World War II and we tried on gas masks and made bunting for a ‘street party’ to commemorate VE Day. We also learnt about
Our Art topic this term was all about art galleries and we enjoyed a brief trip to the Baltic where we looked at the mixed media paintings in one of the galleries. We also took in the view of the bridges over the Tyne.
