Mankato, MN the daughter of Marcus and Margaret Taylor Swisher. She married Kenneth F. Carlson on August 3, 1951 in Moline, he preceded her in death on April 11, 2005. Joan was self employed as a hair dresser for 20 years but took great pride in being a housewife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Clara Lodge No. 118, Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church and the King’s Daughters. She is survived by her child, Mitch Carlson, Moline, IL; grandchildren, Kelsey Carlson, Bentonville, AR, and Seth (Ashley) Carlson, Orion, IL; special friends, Jim & Francine Parr, Moline, IL; special niece, Patricia Holloway; special nephew, Steve Swisher. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Son, Terry and a brother William Swisher.
