Any advertisment/promotion must indicate that the camp is open to any and all entrants, limited only by number, age, grade level or gender. Use of Student Athletes' Names and Pictures: Institutional or privately owned camps may use a student-athlete's name, picture and institutional affiliate only in the camp counselor section of its camp brochure to identify the student-athlete as a staff member. A student-athlete's name or picture may not be used in any other way to directly advertise or promote the camp in any fashion/medium. Note to Head Coach: This form must be completed and submitted with a copy of the camp brochure and web site address (if applicable) for any member of the coaching staff who owns or operates any camp(s). This form must be approved by the individuals designated below before the brochure is printed. In the sports of football and basketball, the coach must complete and submit the ISU Football/Basketball Camp Declaration Form along with this form. ANYONE working any camp, including volunteers and student athletes, in ANY capacity must complete the Indiana State University Programs Involving Minors sexual exploitation online training program and proof thereof will be verified with the ISU Office of Risk Management. OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Head coaches, you are responsible for making sure that all of your staff have taken care of the responsibilities regarding policies and procedures regarding minors on campus or minors involved with any of our sports camps, clinics, showcases. This includes all events and activities that are private ventures by university employees. All personnel and activities need to be insured for $1,000,000 of general liability insurance and sexual molestation and abuse insurance naming Indiana State University and Indiana State University Board of Trustees (BOT) as additionally insured. Every student athlete, counselor, coach, alumni, staff and camp employee and volunteer, must comply with our minors policy and complete on line training. Institutional camps must obtain and provide a certificate of insurance for $1,000,000 general liability and sexual abuse/molestation naming ISU/BOT as additional insured. ISU sponsored events/camps will fall under our coverage. The sexual abuse/molestation training is provided through our insurer, United Educators, at no cost. All individuals, paid and volunteer, must complete the training Paperwork for registration should include medical treatment/authorization and parental consent. All of this must be completed prior to the event. Upon completion of the on line training course and the purchase of appropriate insurance coverage, all documents must be submitted to Facilities/Operation for inclusion with your facility rental agreement and will also be forwarded to the Indiana State University Office of Risk Management. OTHER NCAA REQUIREMENTS & REMINDERS
Employment of Student-Athletes: NCAA Bylaw 13.12.2.1 requires that student-athletes perform duties that are of a general supervisory character. Student-athletes may not receive compensation for simply demonstrating or lecturing at a camp/clinic. Additionally, NCAA Bylaw 13.12.2.1.5, student-athletes may be employed as counselors provided they do not participate in organized practice activities, other than during the regular playing season in the sport. Advertisement and Promotion Restrictions: Camps or Clinics advertisements may be placed in recruiting publications that include a camp directory that meets the following requirements: 1. Size of the advertisement does not exceed one-half page and the format is identical to other advertisements. 2. Directory includes multiple summer camp listings on each page (at least two camp advertisements of the same size must appear on each page). 3. Indiana State University and employee-owned camps may not place an advertisement in a high school or two-year college game program.
