Special Events There is so much sewing going on! Our staff has planned a number of great classes and events for your enjoyment this upcoming season. We also have some fun, less structured events you will want to attend. Sewing is one of the most relaxing things we can do— it has been proven to be a great stress reliever. Have you been thinking about a new machine? We have fabulous machines which offer a variety of features to allow “you to experience the imagination, creativity, fun and relaxation of sewing…” The companies have recently introduced some new models to compliment their lines. We currently have a couple models on close-out and specials on select demo models (while supplies last). Most of our new, close-out and demo models include lessons, service and a one year membership of Sewing Club (please see page 3 for details on Sewing Club). Each year for the past 25 years, WWIB Radio and Sew Complete have teamed together with the goal of receiving twin size and larger quilts to be hand delivered to the homeless and needy in Mexico in conjunction with “YOUTH WITH A MISSION”. Hundreds of quilts have been collected and delivered over the years. We are very grateful to all who have participated in this endeavor. The 25th annual WWIB/Sew Complete quilt contest is in pr ogr ess. Several people have picked up a starter block and are in the process of creating a quilt. The quilts are due at Sew Complete Satur day, J anuar y 24, 2015, no later than 4 p.m. The quilts will be on display in our lower level from Monday, January

Sewing Club This club is open to anyone who owns a Bernina, Brother or Pfaff sewing machine, overlocker or embroidery machine. Anyone who purchased one of these machines at Sew Complete is automatically a member for one year free. Members get an everyday 10% discount on non-sale merchandise except machines, software and furniture. The renewal fee is currently $40 per year. Club usually meets the first Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and the first Saturday of the month at 10 a.m., with no meeting in January or July. We demonstrate and describe many techniques and projects which go beyond the basic sewing machine lessons. We will feature special presser feet, books, patterns, new notions and remind you of “forgotten tools”. This is also a time for Club members to share their ideas and show-and-tell. We have two themes that will carry throughout the 2015 Club year. The first is to work through the UFO project bags and boxes, maybe finding new ways to finish things that left us stymied as to how to complete them in the past. The second is to consciously incorporate our utility and decorative stitches, embroidery, serger techniques and other embellishments into much of our work. February: J esse is the coordinator for the February meetings. In February we will also feature a segment with Sandy Gravunder, who will demonstrate techniques used for making the “Desert Sky Quilt” Your choice of meeting times— Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m. March: Meetings will be Tuesday, Mar. 3, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Mar. 7 at 10 a.m. Jamie will coordinate.
