ACT Interschools SnowSports Information Sheet 2012 What Events are on
Who can Compete?

The ACT Interschools Snowsports Races are for school students in the ACT. Skier and Snowboarders can compete for their school as part of team or an individual in any of our 7 snow sports discipline events.
Alpine - Skiers are timed on a modified giant slalom course Skiercross - Skiers are timed on a slope-style course Moguls - Skiers are scored on a bumps/jumps course Snowboard Giant Slalom Boarders are timed on a modified giant slalom course Snowboard Cross Boarders are timed on a slope-style course
School Students from all ability levels are encouraged to enter, with an emphasis on fun and participation in the initial regional championships. At the National event, the level of competition and the degree of difficulty increases.
Team Composition Individuals can enter but if you would like to enter a team from your school, they need to have: 3-4 competitors for Alpine. 2-3 competitors for Skiercross, Moguls, Snowboard Giant Slalom & Snowboard Cross 3 competitors for the Cross Country Freestyle and Relay.

What Division do I compete in?
Cross Country Relay 3 Person Relay team event
Division 1 - Years 11 & 12 Division 2 - Years 9 & 10 Division 3 - Years 7 & 8
Entry Fees Race entry fees are $35 per race, per competitor. There is a once-only annual race registration of $30 per competitor. Includes public liability insurance.
Teams and Individuals compete in their school divisions: Division 4 - Years 5 & 6 Division 5 - Year 4 & under
Competitors can compete up a division to make a team. Females can compete in a male team. However, a primary school competitor cannot race in a secondary division.
When and How do I Enter? Online Entries open for the ACT-Southern NSW Interschools Champs on May 7 and close June 26. Online Entries open for the ACT Schools Cup on July 30 and close August 22. Schools need to be registered for the system before they complete their entries. Entries need to be completed by a school coordinator, who can be a parent or teacher.
